Frequently Asked Questions

_

We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that okay?

Of course, if I'm completely honest, I'm not that big on being in front of the camera myself. My aim with all of my photoshoots is for you to feel comfortable and ultimately able to have fun and be yourself. I will pose you but also capture the candids in between. I will never force you to do a pose you don't like! We will always start with some relaxed photos to ease you into the session.

If you are nervous, Pinterest will be your best friend! If you create a board of poses you'd like to try then we can give them a go. There is never any pressure during a photoshoot with me!

Where are you based?

I live in Sturminster Newton in Dorset. About an hour from places such as Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury etc

My studio will be based here, if you aren't local to me I'm more than happy to travel.

Depending on how far away you are, there may be a travel fee added to your session. This would be discussed prior to paying your deposit.

How many pictures will we receive?

It really does depend on what package or session you are booking. Please see my packages and prices page.

When it comes to weddings, I like to say that I am a self-diagnosed overshooter and you will never have a lack of images to choose from!

Sessions such as newborns, sitters, branding etc.. you will receive a gallery to choose your final images from.

You will have the option to purchase additional images id you'd like too.

What is your favourite part of being a photographer?

Seeing genuine happiness.

As cheesy as it sounds, I just love, love. I have always been a gooey romantic so photographing weddings is my dream job and I am so grateful for every booking I make.

Every session I get to meet new people and document important parts of their life which is just incredible to me.

Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?

Yes, absolutely!

How far in advance should I contact you?

For weddings, two months minimum for most bookings. In rare occasions I can do a last minute wedding bookings but we must meet prior to talk in detail about your wedding

For other sessions, I would say around two weeks in advance. I usually have a few mini session slots throughout the week (especially in summer where the days are longer) even if full sessions are unavailable last minute.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes I do, I offer 10% discount to health and care workers

I also offer 10% student discount

Proof/ID required

Off peak discounts for weddings too!

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

Not at all, it doesn't matter how short your wedding may be, it is your wedding and that's my focus of the day.

Do you have a studio?

Yes I do! My studio is in the garden of my home in Sturminster Newton. Lots of natural light and perfect for newborns, maternity, cake smashes, headshots and more!

I am happy to travel to you with my equipment of you'd prefer. Travel fee may apply depending on your loaction.

Please be aware that I do have two very nosey dogs that will insist on saying hello...

What is your delivery time for photos?

I say approx 2 weeks for photo sessions and 3-6 weeks for weddings depending on the time of year

Do we get all of the photos you take on the day?

No, I don't send all the raw files taken on the day. A restaurant wouldn't serve you raw chicken right? Visualise the editing as the cooking, it is all part of the process to get them perfect!

I take hundreds if not thousands on a shoot! You will receive the best photos from the day and I promise there will be plenty of them!

Do you offer a album or printing service?

Yes I do! I use a fantastic pro printing service for all of my albums, canvas prints, photobooks etc.. You can email me for quotes on how much each product costs.

I have now integrated this service into my online galleries so you can order directly through the website.

Why is there such a short window for newborn photography?

The best time to photograph your new addition is within the first 14 days. This is when they are mostly sleepy and easier to pose. Less tears, more photo opportunities!

When booking in, we will pencil in for your due date and work from there.

What kind of equipment do you use?

I use Full Frame Mirrorless cameras with various lenses, flashguns and studio lights as needed. I primarily use Canon equipment.

I use cameras with dual card slots to ensure if anything goes wrong with my primary memory card, your photos are being backed up safely.

Do you also offer videography?

Not yet, I hope so in the near future!

My recent upgrade of equipment has enabled me to expand my skills with video. However, weddings aren't for practicing so I would rather stick to just photography for now until I'm confident I can provide a great service for both!

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes I do, they can be sent direct to your loved one or to yourself.

Free postage to the UK.

What is a model session?

You may have seen model sessions pop up on my social media pages from time to time.

These are heavily discounted sessions which are dedicated to me practicing new poses, trialling new equipment etc...

The photos from these sessions will be used on social media and my website. If you are looking to save a few pennies and get some great photos then keep an eye out for these sessions. They are always great fun!

We are eloping so we don't need to book a package, do you offer elopement photography?

Yes! If you just need an hour or so to capture your elopement just pop me a message and I can give you a quote based on your needs

Are Deposits Refundable?

No, deposits are non-refundable. However, if you need to move your shoot/wedding date and Im available on that new date; the deposit can be transferred.

If I get rebooked on the date you cancelled by someone else, then I will happily refund the deposit.
